Forestry at the Lambro Valley Regional Park – Baggero Oasis

We actively participated in the event of the “Think Forestry” project by Intesa Sanpaolo, which stopped at Oasi di Baggero. On the morning of Monday 11 November, 1,250 new shrubs and trees were planted in the Oasi di Baggero (Como), in the Park area, thanks to “Think Forestry”, a project by Intesa Sanpaolo with Rete Clima. Launched a year ago, the path is dedicated to national forestation and the protection of natural capital. The forestry intervention is specifically designed for the creation of BioForest®: these are forests oriented towards the protection of animal and plant biodiversity, created according to the particular Tiny-Forest or Miyawaki Forest technique, which promotes the rapid growth of plants within a particularly vital and reactive ecosystem.

The extra-urban forestry project involved planting 15 native species in an area near the Park Centre, 70% shrubs and 30% trees: from cherry to blackthorn, from alder to some types of oak, all of which have a phytosanitary passport that guarantees the absence of diseases. Furthermore, wood chips were used for planting, according to the mulching technique, which retains humidity and promotes greater nourishment of shrubs and plants. “Think Forestry” is part of the Foresta Italia Campaign , the largest national forestry action supported by private individuals, promoted by Rete Clima together with Coldiretti and the Programme for Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes - PEFC Italia. The Rete Clima Foundation deals with the development of ESG projects for companies, ranging from decarbonisation to ESG reporting, from national forestry to biodiversity protection projects.
